What will be the limitations if I use my old 801 lenses on my newly ordered D800.
This will be my first full frame DSLR and I was looking forward to be able to use my old lenses, but there is no image stabilisation in them (VR and VRII). How is this going to limit my shots in full light and low light conditions
Thanks for any help.
I have a 35-135
70-200
50
as well as some manual macro and wide angled from my old FM2, but haven't shot with an SLR for over 10 years :(

You also need to consider the quality of the optics in your lenses.

The 36 MP of the D800 will pretty much require recent professional grade glass to use the D800 to it's image sensor resolution.

Are you also WendyI at DPReview?

Yes that's me, I didn't get a reply there, so I thought I would try here, but now saw some replies there that were really useful, so am going to get some new lenses. I like the idea of the 24-120 and possibly the 85. and of course a good book and a course so i can learn how to use it...........nice long summer holiday hobby approaching
