After a lengthy break from film photography for digital video, i'm back and loving the world of digital photography. The instant results and comp editing makes life so easy to a shoot these day's. Have been in and out of photo business for over 40 years and have the fever now more than ever. My daughter's time constraints with her painting and college led her to saving the image at hand to paint later. So, matching G1's and some old school technique's we were off. Recently found this sight and have picked up alot of the new technique's and tricks these camera's are capable of. Have been having trouble using the sites upload function using the site gallery. Have followed the

Is this a matter of having to make my first post to be able to create an album or am i missing something. Anxious to get some C&C to see if i still have some chops left. Any help will do. Welcome to the party!! Awesome to hear you are diving right into the fun digital side of photography. As far as uploading pictures, I use Flickr and photobucket. Never used the site's upload system. If you prefer to use that, I'll find someone that can help you.

but "My Albums" link does not appear. Is this a matter of having to make my first post to be able to create an album or am i missing something. Anxious to get some C&C to see if i still have some chops left. Any help will do. Thanks to all.

You're not doing anything wrong, and I apologize for the confusion.

If you want to get some C&C on an image, just select one of the Galleries by the category that best describes the image at hand (people, macro, landscape, etc.). Open a New Thread and post a few words about your image - and then follow the "How to Post..." various suggestion on how to post an image right into your thread.

You will be able to create an Album from your User Profile. Just create one and when you upload, have it opened and pop it in there. However, it's not necessary to have an album on the site to post images - you can upload directly from your computer or copy & paste from a site like Photobucket or flickr. Hope that makes sense, and clarifies things a bit for you! If not, keep asking until we get you set up, okay?

Well i was able to get a test photo to upload to the members gallery under my name. Went to run a new thread under test forum but cannot get photo to upload correctly so i edited it out. Can and if so how to you pull out of your gallery to post in new thread. Am i at least on the right track, if not steer me home. Thanks for the patience.
