Older Lens Recommendations?

Yes this is very easy ... Look for a Vivitar Series One in the Nikon AI S mount. They were fantastic lenses I had one back in the 80's for my F2 and it was good ju ju. At the time it was considered one of the better aftermarket lenses , they were thought of rather highly. They have no collector cache that I know of. I am betting you would be able to find one relatively easily. When I say they were good they were were not bad for what they cost at the time.

I'm trying to sell a Vivitar lens that came with my Nikon EM actually. Vivitar lenses work really well in my opinion.
