Olympus E510 price dives

Just before I bought my current D40 6 months ago I played with the Olympus E510 while waiting to be served. It's price back then was around $1400 with one kit lens. About 2 or 3 months ago it was about $1150 to $1300 with 2 kit lenses. And last night in a major store advertisement it was $747 with 2 kit lenses.

I think high fuel prices and the 10% interest rates do bite hard now. Plus aggressive Sony marketing add the drama. Or maybe it just because the E520 is here so they phasing this one out, maybe. Whatever is/are the reason, it is always good for customers.

I don't know if it is also happening eveywhere else. Is this also happening in your world?

I don't know where you live but just before last Xmas I bought a new E-510 with the 14-42 and a card for $650 including taxes....

I just saw a used body of the same age advertised for $350.

Yeah I bought one new with the 14-42 and a 45-150 for $750 last year, don't know where you were.

I am in australia, we crazy here as though we have money growing on trees by the look of it. But yeah we got the money alright.

Only just recently nikon D300 body only was still $3500. Anyway here is ebay australia to see the price of E510 now. And next to it is a specialized camera store where they don't have E510 anymore but E520, yet you still see the price of E410 as $999. You can see even nikon D700 is there too.

Sounds like you should open up a grey market shop!

I am not a bussiness kind of guy. I tried that before and did not work. Beside there are plenty online shops selling grey products in here.
