Well, I did it again - bought a used camera from that auction site. An Olympus Trip 35 - because it looked cute. I'm wondering whether it works properly though, and before I run a film through it I thought I'd ask if anyone here knows anything about them. The lightmeter seems to work ok but I prefer to set aperture manually anyway, however I'm not sure about the shutter - it seems to be at the same speed whatever aperture I use and whatever the light conditions are (unless it's set to manual in which case it will tell me I can't take the photo if there's not enough light - and it seems to want a lot of light).

With the XA2 the shutter speed would alter depending on the amount of light; this doesn't seem to be the case with this camera. I can't tell whether the camera has a fixed shutter speed (in which case presumably it's only really any good during the daytime and only then in good lighting conditions) or whether my camera is simply broken. Any Trip owners who might know what's going on?

Thanks :hail:
