Haven't posted here in a while :blushing:

I'm debating buying a Nikon 17-55 f2.8 so I rented one for a week and took it with me on a vacation to the coast. Here's a selection of some of the results of that "figuring out what Wide Angle can really do" trip! Any comments etc. are appreciated. All shots taken on a Nikon D7000:

You might want to look at the Sigma 10-20 3.5 as well. My problem with the 17-55 is that its greatest value is only in low light situations where you need to have a slightly faster exposure time. All of the scenes presented here could just as easily be shot with your 18-105 kit lens to the same degree of sharpness. I'm leaning heavily toward the Sigma because I will then have the range from 10-20, 18-105, 24-70, 70-200 (w/1.7 extender). I also have the 35mm 1.8 and a nifty fifty as well as a Tokina 100mm macro/tele mounting on a D7000.
