Hey there -

Had a little time the other day so made a friend sit around a while so I could take some shots.

These were lit with a single light through a DIY Beauty Dish.

What do yall think?

If you curious, you can check out my post on the shoot. There's a couple setup shots there as well...

The second feels a little dark on my screen, but I like the composition. I really like the first. Good job.

thanks jos!

on the second one is the face/sky dark as well? or is the stuff on the sides?

Take away the ukelele and you've got some great shots. But the uke really clashs with the dark, ominous vibe of the lighting and grey sky.

It's also the way he isn't making eye contact with the camera. He has this creepy M. Night Shymalan thing going on.

I like the pictures! #2 is a bit dark but that adds some realism and looks natural. And thanks for sharing the DIY link!

i think i'd agree with the underexposed comment...

i think i could have bumped the flash exposure 1/3 - 2/3 stop or so on these now that i look at it...

I was talking about the building and tree to the left. It all kind of blends together.
