Photo Glare

I am pretty knowledgeable with Photoshop CS2, but I can't figure out the easiest way to photoshop the glare out other then using the cloning tool... any ideas??

You can try reducing the red in hue/saturation, but of course that will reduce the red and orange throughout the scene. I recently took some negatives to a photo shop to have them worked on (not because I can't do them myself, but just to save some time) and they said that they would have to clone out the flare, so that's probably the best way to go. They also told me that I might have better luck if I reshot the scene, for what that's worth. It wasn't possible in my case, and perhaps isn't in your either.

You could try the color replacement tool. With a bit of playing about you can make it look reasonable.
