Hi I'm new to the board and I wanted to ask for some opinions on New York Institute of Photography nyip.com before I drop $1,000+ for their course alone. Anyone ever heard of them? Any good? Bad?
Mainly I'm concerned about the "after". Like I specifically like shooting live things (events etc...) so do you think this course would teach enough on how to get media passes for things like that? Like just yesterday I attended the Dew Tour (motocross and BMX) and there were a couple photographers with media passes, and if you were in the crowd you weren't allowed to take pictures if you're camera "has a detachable lense" (their exact wording). I know you can't just "get" a media pass, and that you need to have some work to be shown... but what are the steps after that? Do you think this course would cover it?
