i think it would be easier for some people if these two topics weren't merged into one, for example, im interested in photojournalism and usually find myself discouraged because i have to spend ages trying to find stuff that isn't sports...this is especially annoying when sports threads have titles like "a cold winters day" (for example) that doesn't give a clue as to wether its sports or not

They were merged in part because there wasn't a lot of activity in the PJ forum as a stand-alone. Also there can sometimes be a gray area between certain sports shots and PJ, so it made sense to merge the two.

We try to keep the number of Gallery topics down, to make it easier to decide where to place images and also to view them according to a favorite topic. Obviously, how people title their threads is outside moderator duties; this will mean you might occasionally have to open a thread you ultimately have no interest in. We regret this inconvenience.
