Photomatix Questions

I've been passively playing with HDR and stumbled upon this program when I didn't like PS's results from their plugin. And while I can get much closer with photomatix than ps to the result I want, its still not quite there. Does anyone know any good advice for using that program? Like a good basic recipe for good HDR results that I can play with on my own? Thanks!

It is all so image and exposure dependent that there really are no general settings IME,.. Typically Photomatix users start to introduce noise in the shadows and highly saturated colors... where as PS merges are more mechanical.

I have combined both workflows into an image, but had to hand register one over the other for unknown reasons.

If you can post images and where you want to focus perhaps we can help.

That was my problem to, I could not figure out how to reply for just that reason, and I use Photomatix a lot.
