Photoshop Action downloads. What are your thoughts?

I just discovered action downloads for photoshop. What are your thoughts? Are they a smart investment? Do you use them?

investment, no.

IMO, one should learn as much as possible and then decide if they are needed.

That's what I was thinking. I'm pretty good with photoshop. It just seemed to be easier with the actions. BUT then I also loose my creativity because the work is sort of already done. I think I'll stay away from the actions unless there's one I just can't live without!

I have some that I use to make my processing go a bit quicker, but I never use them without doing some type of tweaking as they can be a bit strong. I see nothing wrong with using actions, but knowing how to use photoshop without actions is a must!
