Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Howdy. I am not very good at using Photoshop. I recently got a copy of Elements v5. I've played around with it a little bit but can any give me any tips to help me make the photo look a little more polished? Figured out how to use frames and such. I was able to resize it smaller, but it still seems large. I used the tools and tried to take the photo down to 5x7 and the image below is the result. If you click on my blog and look at the photo there by clicking on the picture by itself, the photo will be actual size. Further, I played around with the auto tools and it seems as if they go from one extreme to the other.

Thanks!

IMO when you use a black boarder you should also have a white line to separate it:
this video is a great tutorial: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vinaST1A08g[/ame]

as for the pic.. the person who is out of focus is very grainy (ISO must have been off) as for the kid, he's kind of out of focus his lips and left eye are in focus, but thats it.

Get yourself the book "photoshop elements 5 book for digital photographers" by Schott Kelby. I have the PSE6 version. IMO it is so much easier to have a book to reference, especially if you have no prior PS experience.
I had a lot of PS experience is college but that was several years ago now and you forget things. Scott Kelby is a great teacher, he has a great sense of humour that comes through in his writing and his teaching skill is one that makes you want to do more.
