Photoshop Elements Text Help please!

i have a picture i need to add a text to.the problem is i select the tool and start to type it,it runs together with no spacing.have tried all i know with no luck.trying to put Ardmore and the A is fine but the rest are on top of it.never had this to happen.thanks for any help.
