I took this last night, he was performing at a benefit gig along with a few other great artists. I took a good couple of hundred shots on the night with my Nikon D70 and SB600. Small nightclub, even the on camera flash was enough. Used a cheap 50mm f1.8 for the natural light stuff and the standard kit 70-300 on max zoom for some of the others. Im still learning but I think I'll get there in the end.

What surprised me was how he has lost that ultra high voice and now sings with a bit of attitude. He sounded good.
