Please critique

I was messing around on Photoshop and came up with this. I thought it looked kind of neat, but wanted other's opinions. It helps to have it viewed by others who are better at this than me!! LOL

Why?
I ask these questions because until you have some idea of what it is you are trying to do no-one else's opinion is worth anything.
And once you do have an idea then you are the best judge of whether it does what you want it to.

Put a selection around the face and feather with a big value. Then blur or soften the rest and you should get more the effect you want.
