When I'm shooting trees I'm always looking for light trunks, Poplars and Birch are the best. These poplars were tucked into the pines giving a great background to contrast against.

I rarely like ICM shots, but I always like your work. The only thing I would change is maybe adjusting the WB some, a little warmer
 
I like it. Very dramatic and different - ICM is usually not so bold.

JSecord, I did lean more towards a more cool tone here, I can see warming it up a bit for sure, thanks for your thoughts.
Thanks SquarePeg, yeah I've worked with this method to get away from muddy colours which were soooooo frustrating for a long time and into more true rich colours. I like saturated bold colours and lots of contrast ;)
