post processing dark tones

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone could give some advice on how to process for dark tones. I really enjoy the dark "feel" or misty feeling that pervades the entire photo (it seems more than just a vignette, although I'm sure they added one).

Generally, I'm guessing that we want to have the histogram lie toward the left, but I'm wondering what else I can do to create that dark, misty feeling.

Actually I've been playing around the last few hours and think I got the hang of it. It's just mainly the vignetting and playing around with curves. I'll post it in general gallery later.
