Preening Mallards

I got out for the first time this year with the camera and decided to go with the long lens and look for ducks. I found this pair of preening mallards and right or wrong, decided what they were thinking.

Below is my first shot of the year, the group of mallards. I was mainly finding mallards, but also got a pair of buffleheads. This spot usually has wood ducks, but today they always kept the brush between me and them.

What are you doing with all the nice calm weather, we got rain and gales.

Viewing stunning images like those takes my mind off the weather, and helps me look forward to a day when my pictures are half as good as those.

Thanks for the comments. When the light is good on these birds, the colors are simply amazing. Now, I need to get back there and find some wood ducks that aren't so camera shy.
