Thanks for the opinions. I like 2 better as presented here.

But the first one printed on an A4 looks very nice on the wall of our bathroom

i like both. they both have slightly different meanings to me.

I would choose #1 if the bottom wasn't cropped so closely. I like the blue background much more than the background on #2.

I like the second on best on composition alone - the flowers look a little "airier"... I like that bud in the background.
I'm distracted by the intensity of the flat blue in the first one.

A slap on the wrist for me, you are absolutely correct it is a Rhododendron (damaris)

I'll be more careful in future
