Even with plans to get the 70-200 2.8L, I don't think it woudl have been able to get the exposure I got today with my 50mm 1.4 since most of the apertures (based on the shutters speeds required to prevent blur) were in the 1.8 to 2.2 range. Photos today came out great, shots to come.
