just curious does anybody know what i can do to make my prints look like the negative? obviously very easy to do with digital photography but i'm lost on this one in the darkroom.

Invert colors.

An old method is to enlarge your current negative onto the same film but use a larger format film to enlarge on. This will produce a "positive" on film from your negative. If shooting in black and white, use an orthochromatic B&W film as it can be exposed to a red safe light for short periods of time. If shooting in color, you will need to work in absolute darkness and arrange everything by touch.

After creating and developing your film "positive", you can then it treat as a negative that prints a negative image on paper.

you can also make a print, then after it is dry, contact print it against another piece of paper and you will end up with a paper negative. Just be sure the papers don't have a logo on the back sides.

Somethings look better that way than a normal print , it can be very cool.

google paper negatives, or check out the stuff keith posted for you.

Here's some paper negatives i shot on a large format camera
