please move this thread if needed.did not know where to post. concerning a previous thread about posting on the wedding/portrait site. could someone tell me the anser to this question. if you get paid for a photo in a professional manner should the photo be posted on the pro site or not?
By definition, if one gets paid for their work they are professional reguardless of experiance. now wether or not a professional wants to post their work in a forum labled as professional is entirly up to the one posting. In other words it's your choice.
This is kinda reopening that same wound and that thread was locked but yesterday. Personally if I was you, I would have thought it more polite to send a private message to a board moderator seeking advice, not ask the opinion of the whole forum. Since you did it this way, though... here's my 2 cents (I doubt it's worth that anyways). You were paid for the photosession. That made you a professional. In my opinion, you had the right to post it there... however... as a professional, get ready for some brutal critique, as should be expected from your fellow peers, especially when you request it as a professional. That means high-level critique. If someone points out obvious beginner errors, in the future I would be hesitant to even post a picture (as a professional), that had evidence of my inexperience written all over it. Having said that, my opinion matters little to nothing as I am not the one resposible for making decisions on how this wonderful place is run, nor how the rules are enforced. I am a guest here, and I do my best not to step on anyone's toes... especially the moderator team.
hello all just got back and read your answers. i did not know the other thread had been closed. i am therefore asking a mod to close this one as i dont want the saga to start again
I'm probably misunderstanding you, but her post that opened this thread was made this morning at 5:57AM. The thread which she is discussing was closed yesterday (last night actualy) by a board mod. I also do not think you need to defend her to me, my firend... I do not feel she did anything inherently wrong as well.
Force of habit, but the thread was open when I replied to this, LaFoto closed it around ten after six this morning. Either way you are right nothing wrong, it's kinda why I answered here as opposed to the other.
i think where my confusion lies is im in england and i believe the time stated on the forum clock is usa????
right now 1.30pm in england and its sunday roast beef time yum yum with yorkshire puds i think this thread has changed direction which is good:mrgreen:
One of the challenges when one posts on the internet in a venue where the members posting are from all over the world. It's the Australians that get me... 12 or more hours different in time, but 6 months different in seasons! :lmao:
