Of the literally thousands of shots the wife and I took over the passt year I think this is hands down, far and away my very favorite. It was a cold foggy day out on Galveston Island and we spotted these two White-tailed Kites just ahead of us on a back trail near the bay. I stopped the car and the wife got out and started taking shots. One of he kites flew off, returned, and then flew off gain...the wife nailed the take-off. there is no PS'ing done. A slight exp adjustment and a small crop from both edges, and I removed the slight magenta sensor caused cast. Printed this 11x14 on metallic (the red eyes, and yellow legs/feet stand out in the near monochromatic shot) and it hangs in the living room. Once in awhile you get really, really lucky and when you do it makes all the rest of the time spent worth the effort. (there are those who would nitpick this I am sure, but you have to see it printed to grasp its impact)
