Hi I am somewhat puzzled – as the other day I bought 2 Sony cameras to see which one would be a good all around pocket camera, they were the Sony H55 & the Sony HX5.

Going by the stats on the internet both of the cameras were said to do 10 fps but the H55 sounds like about 3 fps .

Can someone please explain this to & if there is a certain section in the cameras settings that will let the H55 do a faster burst rate.

Here is one of the comparison websites that I looked at.
: Digital Photography Review

Thank you Craig

Your link is hosed.

From looking at the specs for each camera, I believe that is 10x zoom, not a burst rate of 10 frames per second.

In fact, the specs list at DP Review doesn't show a burst rate of any speed.

Here the "Continuous Mode/Framers/Second" is just a blank box:

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/H55/H55DAT.HTM

Here under "DRIVE SYSTEM" it says the burst mode is 1.84 fps @14.1 MP (maximum 4 shots)

Here again, no fps rate is listed in the specs:

Canon's 1D MKIV can do aboout 10 fps. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=139&modelid=19584

I have a feeling you will need a lower resolution to do faster burst. If you go with high res, it it such a large file that the internal memory cant handle it.
