Processing speed?

Hey guys, i've noticed that when i shoot in long shutter speeds on my olympus e620, it takes almost as long for the image to be processed as my shutter speed was (i.e. 2 min opening time = 1.5min processing time). what does this mean? a cruddy camera model, my camera specifically has problems, or the memory card?

Does your camera have a 'long exposure noise reduction' feature? My camera does (Canon 20D) and when it's activated, it does the same thing. A 5 second exposure will cause the camera to process for about 5 seconds after the exposure.

I first noticed this when I was shooting fireworks about 5 years ago. I turned it off and haven't turned it back on since.
