For a project in photography class last year, I decided to dive into
"studio" photography. All I mean by this is aiming my own light. 2 of the
pictures were taken in a Recording Studio owned by my dad. The last one was
me trying to spark some emotion. I had fairly primitive equipment at this
point. For the lighting, I literally used an aimable flashlight, with no
kind of diffuser. With this considered, I am quite happy with the shots. I
used a checked out Digital Rebel from my school, with the basic 18-55mm kit
lens that came with it.

TL;DR First attempt at "studio" light set ups with basic equipment.

1) This is a shot of an old guitar amplifier from our recording studio. It
was lit with simply a flashlight, and very little ambient light from dimmed
overhead lights. I tried to emphasize all the knobs being turned to 10, and
the word "volume." Suggestions or comments on my result, keeping in mind of
my lacking equipment.

2) This is a shot of our mixboard, shot while the volume faders were moving
up and down. Again, lit with the combonation of the flashlight and ambient
overhead lights. Of the three, this might be my favorite, as far as
technical profinciency.

*Note* This next picture some might find distasteful. If anyone wishes, tell
me and I will instead post a link to the picture, or remove it all together. It is
far from my intention to offend anyone with this.

3) My intent with this picture was to spark emotion within the viewer. I've
been involved in the severe struggles of family members and friends, and
that is the where the idea of this shot came from. This was shot with a
combination of light from a few lamps, as well as light used from an
adjacent window. The background was just a blank towel taped to a wall.
(Post pro was done to eliminate how obvious that was). The "blood" was
created by using red and blue food dye in maple syrup. Comments on the
subject matter, my light setup, or the photo overall are greatly welcome.

I didn't want to end it quite yet tho.
