Pround new owner of a 40D

Good afternoon all,

Just picked up a 40D today and the battery is currently charging. I also picked up a new Sandisk Ultimate II 2GB card for it.

A question for all as I can't remember at all, when I first put the card in am I supposed to format it with the camera or is the card good to go as is out of the package?

my sandisk xtreme III 2gb worked right outta the box.

I would format it, make sure theres nothing on there. Not gunna harm anything really is it and it will probably take about 1 second to do.

It's good practice to format your card each time you are done unloading the images onto storage. And definitely a new one. Needs to be formatted to Canon's file system, compression, etc. Takes like two seconds.
