Publishing vs. Stock

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1582973954/qid=1137560979"]Photographer's Market[/ame] covers publishing and stock. If you want to publish, I think this book is a requirement.
For traditional stock, you usually need quite a few high-quality images to be submitted at once. I'm not sure how well people do with online stock sites that are more lenient. It's been a while since I've looked into it.

That book looks quite interesting but it's American. Would it be much use to someone like me in the UK?

thanks
David

I'm thinking it would be eventually. I looks like Daniel found something similar for the UK, but the US is a big market. You might have to limit your submissions though, if you have to worry about the cost of postage. Starting in the UK may be wiser, at least until you get a taste of it. There will be lots and lots of rejection, and there's no use paying a lot on top of that.

Thanks Dan - I've already purchased that book!!
I've got images submitted to an online stock library and recently had a sale for a German calendar so it's given me an incentive and encouragement that my shots are definitely sellable.
I'm trying to increase publishers' awareness that I'm keen on selling!!!

Congrats, Darich! I wish you the best!
