putting on lenses

haha i know this is going to sound so very..n00bish but anyway ill just ask it and sound like an idiot. i got a widelens for christmas and i have a Canon A540 digital camera..is it going to fit on there, i dont know how to make it fit on there without just holding it and thats sort of a pain..gawd im such a noob

You have to buy an adapter for 10 bucks or so. The lens should screw onto the adapter. To fit the adapter you have to remove the accessory collar and then screw in the adapter.
