Question about Rebel XTi.

This may seem like a dumb question but I can't seem to find the answer on my own.
Is there a black and white mode?
I can find sepia.. tints of green and purple. But no black and white.
I'm thinking that it just HAS to be somewhere...
Am I right?

Yep. Look for the monochrome picture style on the menu.

Even though these camera have those modes...it's much better to convert your image with software, rather than let your camera do it.

Ir does have it but like Mike said it's better to have all the color information and then adjust to perfection on the computer.

I'll third that sentiment.

You have more control and options which allow you customize the end result if you convert from RGB to grayscale once the images are in the computer.

I do take all pictures in color but it was bugging me that I could not find a black and white mode on the camera it's self.

Yup. However, if you are going to be doing a lot of this type, suggest you follow Big Mike and others recommendations. Also try shooting in RAW.

this way if you decide to go back to the color version, you have that option.
