Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I want to scan in film that I will shoot, but need a scanner. I was thinking of getting an Epson Perfection v370.
But I would like to know:
A) is it a good scanner or are there better ones under £100?
B) what resolution and density would (35mm) film be scanned at?
According to Amazon it is a 4800dpi scanner, but what does that actually mean?
Thanks in advance

My scanner, for a 35mm neg is set to scan the neg at.....

6800 x 4500 pixels
94" x 62.3" @72ppi. (8x12 @565ppi).......side note, it's pixels per inch ppi when scanning, dpi-dots per inch when printing.
87 MB file

Or just use the software to scan the neg to a 8x12 @600ppi TIFF file. Should be near 100MB.

Good file for prints up to 30x40.

Actual resolution is much less probably under 2200 where my V600 resolves out. You won't get more than that and it will take a lot longer to scan.
