Question on how to achieve picture in picture

Hi,

I am looking to do a Christmas picture that has another faint image in the picture seen mostly in the 80s. Any ideas of what it is called and how to achieve? Here is an example.

The easiest way is to place the second image over the first in photoshop where you want it and then reduce the fill/opacity on it to your liking. Pretty simple, really.

That being said, for it to look good you'll need consistent lighting and background in both images, or you'll have to remove the second image from it's background using selection tools.

There are literally dozens of different ways you could achieve the effect you're going for.
