Im looking at a Ritz Camera magazine and they have good sales going on and they have:

* A Quantaray 500mm f/8.0 Mirror w/ Macro lens for $99.99 and

* 500/1000mm Preset Telephoto lens for $99.99

Both of these in the description say that it requires a T-mount adapter. What is that?? And do I really need it??? Also, are those 2 lenses any good???

Thanks

Quick lens info session.... t mount is how a third party lens maker can make his lens fit the most cameras. On these lenses, from the factory all lens have a thread on the base it is exactly the same thread on all. You buy a T mount (adapter) for your specific camera so one size fits all. yes you have to have one..

I have no idea the quality of the lens, but do you know how a preset lens works. You set the exposure on one ring then you have to twist a different ring on the barrel to open the lens up for composing, then you turn the ring back to shoot the picture. Not a real good thing for fast shooting but fine for landscape and still life.

Again I have no idea the quality of the lenses I would check for peer reviews through google.
