Alright, so tomorrow im going to this global warming rally in portland, there supposed to be around 15 thousand people showing up and im going to be in the midst of it all taking pictures. i was just woundering if theres some rules as to police brutality and such, this is my first rally and theres supposed to be some radical group going that might cause problems. i dont have a press badge because well i was told in these situations they arnt needed. is it ok if i stay ahead of the rally and take picture? are pictures of the police ok? i need a low down. thanks

If I were you I would take as little gear as you can get by with. At things like these if the police start mixing it up with people and you are close to them and mabye look like them I would not expect them to discriminate press pass or no. Your best bet is to protect what little gear you do take with you.
