RAW and PHotoshop Elements 6

Ok i'm trying to play around w/ raw, and none of it is working. first i set my xsi to record in RAW only. I took a few pics, then I copied them to a directory, and tried to open them w/ photoshop elements, and for some reason it says its not a supported type, though the file format is .CR2...what gives? am i doing something wrong?

make sure your elements version has the latest update for your camera If the camera was released after elements 6 then you may need to go to canon.com.

curious to what happens if you open up the organisor and get photos from your camera that way? do they open?

copied them to the directory?
When I plug my camera into the computer, Elements 6 automatically opens up and imports them. OR, I can open the organizer and get photos like Rachel said.
Can you do either of those?

sorry forgot to update this and let everyone know i figured it out. as rachel said, i DID have to install the latest RAW update. once i did that everything worked awesome, and as it should.
