Terri:
I think your photos would improve by zeroing in
on your subject more. The wagon pic, I would
have just shown a bit of it, just showing the
words 'radio flyer' and perhaps a bit of the wheels.
In other words, just enough so the viewer
knows it's a wagon. (oh, sorry, I went back to
look at the wagon pic (#4) and realized you wanted
both kids in the photo.)
It seems that you're not shooting wide open. I
would shoot at maximum aperture to blur out
the background. If you had a f2.8 lens, I think
it would make quite a difference. Or f1.8!
Also, what about some face only shots, but
use a telephoto so as not to distort anything,
and some shots late in the day to get some
interesting light. Maybe have your subjects
backlit and use fill flash?
