Hi,

I have a Canon Rebel T4i with an 18-55mm and 55-250mm lens that I am wanting to record a fireworks show with.
Do any of you have recommendations on which settings or which lens I should use? I am planning on using the 18-55mm lens, but if you think different, please explain.
Also, my show is going to be around 13-15 minutes long, and I've heard that the sensor can overheat during extended recording times. Is this true? If so, will this cause damage to my camera?
Thanks in advance for any input given.

Edit - Sorry for posting in the wrong section. Didn't realize this forum existed.

I shot video of fireworks last year using a T4i and the 40mm pancake lens. My settings were f/2.8 ISO 100 and shutter speed of 125. Also used a DIY cut out filter to get shapes from the fireworks with a black background. Someone did suggest the ISO of 3200 with the aperture full open and 1/60 shutter speed, but I didn't try that because I thought the high ISO would be too grainy.

Here is a sample of the cutout shapes starting at 1:28
