Relaxing at the lake - C & C

I took some pictures today at the park and thought this one would work as a B&W. What do you think?

seems like an awful lot of middle grey. water, grass, trees, sky.

seems it could use a little more contrast.

Here is an edit with a bump in contrast? is this one more interesting?

I really like it. I'm a big fan of isolated/calm photos overseeing water. I have 3 photos now like that! I think the composition is really strong here.

I like it.

If you boosted the contrast, you may have overdone it, as there's not much detail in the foreground shadows.

If you shot it raw, maybe you could try the post-processing again, with an eye toward this detail?

I agree, it works well as B&W. I like the composition.

I don't think its a contrast issue here so much as it is the photo is underexposed. It looks like you exposed for the fountain which was the brightest area. I also feel the shot would have more impact if it had been shot slightly more form the left, then you would have captured all the water movement from the fountain. I also find the house in the trees to be a bit distracting. Just my opinion.
