As i hear of oil problems, sensor, problems, button problems. i see new cameras with temperature operation at 32 degrees and above (i was out in -20 degrees once was the lense suppose to crack or is that when you go from cold to warm temperatures to quick?) and claims of 150000 accuations or some thing.
i have to wonder. what is reliable cameras? And what is up with the temperature ratings does anyone pay attention to them?
Thread after thread of people using warrantees, review after review of "camera problems".
Imagine you are a fool on a boat (like me) and it is like minus twenty out. And you just want to take this picture like your life depended on it on this very used old beat up camera. which camera would you wish you had with you at THAT moment.
OR you are like the real crazy people shooting pictures in the artic, with no stores around to buy a new camera. Freezing. you drop the thing ten times a day climbing ice hills or something. what is the camera? Reasonably. lets keep the 50k ones out of this...Out of the say 500 dollar to 4000 dollar ones, and with whatever lens. what would it be...that you would pick. If it was like YOUR LIFE depended on it.
edit:and i am kind of concerned over the opertation temperatures.. never paid much attention. but what is up with that and anyone care to comment?
