remote, please help

i bought that exact remote and the company says it is compatible with the nikon d40. i put my camera on the remote setting and when i click the button nothing happens. please help what could i be doing wrong?

Did you make sure there is a battery in it? Stupid i know, but I've done worse

Set your camera to the remote setting. if that doesn't work, than buy the Nikon remote. It's $15, c'mon nobody's THAT cheap.

They could have saved a dollar by getting the Nikon original in this case.

Cameta sells them for $9.95 plus shipping or you can get them from DB Roth for $12.99 shipping included.

I used to have one for my E8800 that I need to replace. This is on my shopping list for after Christmas amongst other things.

yeah the whole reason i bought the other one is cuz they told me u could shoot it at a larger distance. i guess i got ripped off. ill invest in the nikon one.
