I want to take a picture and re-size it to 8x10. I am using a D70 @ 3008x2000 pixels. What do I have to do to re-size it and loose the least amount of picture. I am also using jasc paint shop pro 8. Thank you for the help.
You are going to have to do some cropping, to get the correct ratio.
I don't know if Paint Shop Pro has a crop tool, but with Photoshop you can select the crop tool and select 8x10 @ 300 PPI. The result will be an image that is 2400 x 3000 pixels.
Since your image is only 2000 pixels on the short side, there will need to be some interpolation if you want to get to 2400 x 3000. Shouldn't be much of a problem though.
You don't have to make the image 300 PPI, you can take your image and just crop it. If you leave the 2000 side, then the long side will be 2500 pixels...which give you an 8x10 print at 250 PPI.
