I broke out my old Sony F828 to try it out on some simple close up stuff. I've had it for a long time but have never really played with it to see all that it can do. One of the things that impresses me about it is the tiny format (8.8x6.6) which is roughly a 1/4 frame or half of a 4/3. It is 8 mp. It came fitted with a 7.1x51 Zeiss T* Vario Sonnar. It has an aperture range of only 2.0,2.8 - 8.0. I set the ISO to 64, bounced the flash straight off the ceiling and stopped it down to f8. and set the zoom ring to 70mm (35mm equiv). This is what I got.

I have the two generations older, F-707 (5MP). My 9yo uses it these days. It still takes decent photos but the low res. LCD and the EVF kill me. I can barely make out shapes on either one.
