I think they are both amazing, but the first one has such a neat look to it.. THe B&W just doesnt do this rose justice !!

In this photo, I cropped in close on the rose and then I desaturated a bit and then bumped the contrast up in curves. I burned the dark shadowed area at the bottom to make it totally dark.
