Went and photographed a friend of ours band on Saturday night. I have done
this a couple of times before, but I am still finding it difficult. Seems the D70
has a lot of problems with ISO1600. Soooooo noisy. Either way, I guess a little
grain is kinda neat every now and again.

That being said, what do you think?

Shot in RAW with WB adjusting, resizing and little tweaking here and there.
Some were converted to black and white. Without further ado...

I actually threw the speedlight on for a couple of shots just to see how they
would come out... because as you said, the light just completely sucks. The
biggest problem was it was so smoky in there, they came out pretty hazy.

I figured I would give it a go without the speedlight, just to see what would happen.

I like 8 the best. cool pics, makes me want to be there

Thanks. It was very loud and very smoky. Next time, I'll bring ear plugs. Heh.

They only played for 30 minutes, so I felt a bit rushed. I hope to be a little better
prepared next time.

The quality is fine for me. I understand the problems of shooting under those conditions.
I like the strength and attitude in No 3 and 7. You can feel the energy of the singer.

My fav is no. 9, though.

Thanks guys.

They really liked the pictures, so the good news is I get to try again next month.

I will try a little harder and will be a little better prepared. I might even try
some with the speedlight, just to see what i can capture.

I appreciate the comments.
