Scanning Cross-Processed Transparencies

How do you all do it? What's your technique?

I am scanning some x-pro'd Velvia 100 and it's coming out all weird.

If you cross-process slide film then scan as color neg.

If you cross-process color neg then scan as slide film.

If you have weirdness that isn't due to doing one of those incorrectly, it's because you cross-processed.

What scanner and software are you using, and what kind of weird are you seeing?

If the scanning software does some automatic orange mask removal when set to scan colour negative, then you may be better off scanning cross-processed reversal film as a positive, then either inverting in the scanning software (via curves, for example) or in Photoshop (or whatever you use). This is because you have what is effectively an unmasked colour negative.

This is what I've been doing and it's been working fine. I think it was the orange mask thing that was throwing me off.
