I swear, I only have the lens caps off for a seconds when I'm changing lenses, so I can't believe there is dust collecting my my camera body! My manual says to take my camera to a specialty shop for cleaning the mirror/sensor etc. but how many of you actually take it to the shop rather than clean it yourself? I've shot about slightly over 1,000 exposures and noticing that dust has built up in the camera body. Not much, but enough to notice when I was trying out a "noobs light box". here is what I saw....
Notice the most obvious dust spot in the top left corner on the end of the toe of the blue heel? :x
So I decided to take a shot of basically something completely white not worrying about focus etc...just to see how much dust is in the body. (yes my lens was cleaned of any dust particles prior to the following picture). Here is the shot....notice all the dust?
So it's time for me to get in there and clean the guts of my D40 for the fist time. So.....what cleaning equipment should I have and do you have any advice for a first timer. Thanks in advance.
