Last weekend, I was planning to SCUBA dive, but I woke up in the morning in St. Louis and was WAY congested, which means I had to cancel my dives (diving with congestion is a big-time no-no). It was also raining off and on, so I couldn't ride my bike on the Katy Trail (which isn't paved) so Plan B went out the window...

What to do when it is raining, and you are to congested to dive?

Why, you take your waterproof SCUBA camera to the ZOO (the St. Louis Zoo, to be exact) and take pictures.

Here are a few shots from the DC1000 in its waterproof case. Keep in mind this is a 10 megapixel point & shoot camera with only a 5x zoom, mounted in a waterproof housing... not at all the type of camera well suited for zoo photography... but hey, it is what I had. And yes, I know the lion is badly composed, I was pretty far away and I didn't want to crop it any more than I did. Sue me.

The first one I posted earlier, but I like it and it is part of the set.

It ain't about the camera, it is about knowing how to use the camera.

Niiiiiice! My fave is the sleepy jaguar, although the bee and butterfly shots are right up there as well.

very cool pics, the first bee shot is awesome, sweet composition :D
