Here we see a photographer in his natural habitat. See how he holds his tool at the ready for unsuspecting prey. Notice his plumage, designed to attract a mate.
 
I think you could come in a little closer, crop some off the side and the top. It's a decent candid.

Did you read anywhere that I may have indicated that it was "impossible"?

Apparently it is NOT impossible. Improbable though.

Here's my definition: A candid portrait is one in which the subject has little or no awareness that the photograph is being taken.

I figured that's what you were implying. However, awareness can have nothing to do with a candid shot.
