Here they are. What can I do to get better portraits in the future?

#1.
Focus is soft.
I'm assuming you're using the timer after you've locked focus on the wall.

Two ways you can fix this.
Measure the distance from the lens to your face, and manually lock the focus at that distance.
Or. Get yourself a remote or cable release. Line up your shot, and focus using the remote.

Composition:
What are you trying to say in this photo?
Remember, when shooting people, you want to focus on eyes.
This doesn't mean you have to always have eyes in the photo, but pay attention to the lighting on the face.
You're casting a hard shadow. Possibly try moving your lighting for less of that.

#2.
You chopped the top of your head off.
Focus is soft again, but you will fix that.
Exposure looks about a step off. Underexposed.
Face is very dark.

*it's ok to chop heads.

Just sayin'

#2, focused and exposed better, would be a rather nice image.
It's composed very well in this landscape portrait. Top of the head doesn't matter here.
Reshoot and nail it.
